JP Clarke's of Bunratty is an award winning Irish gastro pub nestled in the heart of the historic village of Bunratty, County Clare. Comprised of a traditional cottage and contemporary, purpose built two-storey building, in 2023 they undertook a major refurbishment of the cottage and reached out for photographs to complement its new interior. Formally known as Gallagher's Seafood Restaurant, now The Cottage at JP Clarke's, the old cottage feel was retained while adding more natural light and elegant new soft furnishings. The cottage now lends itself to the perfect setting for corporate or family occasions.
The Process
Working with Mike, the owner of JP Clarke's, we discussed his requirements for the photography. Initially, the scope was photographs of well-known landmarks and places in Clare and Limerick, and as the project progressed, expanded to locations Ireland-wide. Working from our full catalogue, we developed a proposal featuring photographs from four counties. Mike also requested a photograph of his establishment, Knox's Pub in Ennis, which Gary was happy to capture as part of this project. Given the scale and colour palette of The Cottage, we decided on 18 A2 and A3 size prints in our black wood profile frames.
