One-to-One Photography Lesson | 3 Hours

Give the gift of photography, or take the time to develop your own skills, with a private one-to-one photography lesson with SIAR Photography's Gary Collins.

This practical, three-hour photography lesson is suitable for all levels, from beginners learning their way around a camera to those looking to build their confidence and understanding of photography.

Working with your own DSLR or mirrorless camera, you'll learn how its settings work, when to use them and how to get more from your equipment. The session combines a relaxed introduction to your camera with hands-on photography at an agreed outdoor location in County Clare.

What you'll learn

Your lesson will be tailored to your camera, experience and interests. Depending on your needs, topics may include:

• Getting familiar with your camera and its controls

• Understanding aperture, shutter speed and ISO

• Focusing and choosing autofocus modes

• Exploring different shooting modes and moving beyond Auto

• Composition and working with natural light

• Adjusting settings and seeing how they affect your photographs

• Practising landscape photography in the outdoors

• Getting answers to your questions as you learn

A practical photography experience

The session typically begins with a relaxed introduction to your camera, giving you time to understand its controls and settings. We'll then head outdoors to put what you've learned into practice, experimenting with different settings and photographic approaches as you go.

Lessons take place at a mutually agreed outdoor location. Depending on your interests, possible locations include Lahinch, Clahane or the Kilkee Cliffs and Pollock Holes area. (Lessons also available outside Co. Clare, subject to agreed travel expenses).
