Our Story

Share Memories, Share Ireland.

SIAR meaning “West” or Westward” in Irish, is a range of contemporary photographic prints of the Irish landscape & culture by Gary Collins.

Our products are captured, printed, packaged & sold from County Clare on the Wild Atlantic Way.

SIAR arises from looking at the Irish landscape and culture in a unique way, with a local perspective, portraying the environment, Irish culture and heritage along with landscape photographic shots.

In 2019 SIAR Photography was a Finalist in the County Clare Round of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur in the Best Business Idea category and in 2020 a Finalist in the Clare Final of the National Enterprise Awards.

#BehindtheLens | About Gary

Gary Collins is a photographer based in Ennis, Co. Clare. His photography story began when he toured the world with Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance. Dancing shoes on and camera in hand he began documenting the landscapes and cultures of his travels. On returning to Ireland he worked as an Accountant before founding Gary Collins Photography in 2014.

All prints are original photographs captured by Gary Collins.

All prints are printed, packaged and sold from County Clare on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Printed on 250 GSM Matt paper in our studio at home, each print is titled by Gary, with the story behind SIAR included with each. Our packaging and framing is sourced from an Irish supplier who hand finishes each frame. All orders are packaged, framed and put in the post by Gary, with help from Rua, the office cat.

SIAR is focused on becoming a sustainable business. The inspiration for our products comes from the beauty of the environment we find ourselves in and we aim to play our part in protecting that. Here are a few of the steps we have taken to be environmentally conscious:

  • The backing boards that accompany our unframed prints are fully recyclable and our protective sleeves are corn based plastic and 100% compostable.
  • Both our print paper and wood profile frames are sourced from sustainably farmed FSC certified trees.
  • We engage with An Post and DPD for delivery, who have both given commitments to zero-carbon emission delivery within Ireland.
We look forward to continuing our sustainability journey as we develop as a business.
