Downpatrick Head Landscape | Mayo
A photograph of the iconic Downpatrick Head, County Mayo on the Wild Atlantic Way. Once part of the mainland, the Dún Briste (Broken Fort) Sea Stack is 150 feet tall. There are many legends on the formation of the Sea Stack but it is widely accepted that an arch leading to the rock collapsed during rough seas in 1393.
